The Skills Cenre Now

The Sierra Leone government has put a rehabilitation programme in place to help educated young people who were addicted to kush - a potent, deadly drug reported to contain human bones, cannabis, fentanyl, tramadol and formaldehyde.

There is no support for those who finish the rehabilitation programme nor is there support for young people who weren't in formal education who are addicted to the drug. CESO intend fill this gap in Kaningo by providing a centre with trained young people, who have successfully completed rehabilitation to:

  • sensitise other young people about the dangers of kush
  • peer mentor others who have finished the programme to enable them to:
    • find accommodation
    • go back to education
    • find vocational training or a job
    • mentor others who have been rehabilitated

In the future we hope to be in the position to provide computer literacy and other vocational training courses from the skills centre.

We're askingĀ Kolat Bricks to create the building, their bricks will save time and money as well as help us to give back to another community in Sierra Leone.
